Yes: An epiretinal membrane is a condensation of the vitreous tissue atop the macular area.  It's attachments to the underlying retina can cause the symptoms you describe.  Hopefully these are minor and not progressive but if that happens, see a retinal surgeon for evaluation and treatment.

The "cure" depends on diagnosis.

Too little history: You don't state just where this is. The good thing is that you state that both of your parents seem to have this "thing" and seem to have survived without any untowards consequences. Did you tell that little bit of info to your doc. Getting a good thorough history is the most important part of medicine but the insurance companies value tests and computerized charts more so that is what you get!

if you have gerd and find h pyroli is cause, will gerd clear up once bacterial infection is gone ?

Not likely: Studies in adult patients have not shown an improvement in gerd after treatment for h. Pylori.  In fact, in some cases the reflux may worsen.
