Herpes simplex: It is unlikely that the herpetic outbreak was a cause of sinus infection, but rather that any form of infection may trigger recurrences of herpetic lesions. The treatment of your sinusitis might benefit from use of saline irrigation with a Neti-pot, decongestants, and a steroid nasal spray. If these do not work you need to see an ENT doctor as soon as feasible. Good luck.

Symptoms: If you have congestion or runny nose, nasal saline spray and avoiding common allergens is recommended.
A topical nasal steroid may provide relief for nasal symptoms.  Continue antihistamine and contact OB.

Try another medicine: Fortunately there are several good over the counter antihistamines besides loratadine. If the over the counter medicines do not help then see a doctor for prescription medicine. An allergist can help identify what triggers your symptoms and find the best treatment.

Sort of: In general, if allergy medications cease to control symptoms, it's not that the medication has gotten less effective, but rather that allergies have gotten worse.  Antihistamines don't lose effectiveness with regular use and one is not likely to be tremendously more effective than another.

Won't help: And better not overdose, kindly revisit your doctor or get a second opinion, meanwhile, if your symptoms are nasal congestion and runny nose, saline nasal washes and OTC fluticasone nasal spray may be of help, read the labels carefully, good luck

Ok : Other than a potential for more pronounced drowsiness , dryness , blurred  vision and the other side effects of antihistamines it is unlikely to cause any serious adverse effects.  I hope you feel better in the morning.

Yes: But if you continue to have bothersome symptoms despite taking two 24-hour antihistamines in one day, you should see your physician for further advice.
