Overdose?: Not really for the loratidine though minor side effects can occur but taking too many decongestants can induce hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, tremor and other side effects. It can occasionally be fatal though not at 6.

Don't exceed dosage: Better not to exceed recommended OTC dosage unless seen by an MD, which you might want to do, as you might need another prescription medication to control your symptoms, goodluck

Yes you can: Yes you can occasionally take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) especially at night with Claritin if Claritin alone is not helping your symptoms but i will not recommend taking it for long periods and 3to 4 times a day of benadryl
most of the time try to take one or the other if it works for you or consult your doctor or an allergist.

i took a generic allergy medicine at 11am this morning containing loratadine but it has not helped. could i take a zyrtec (cetirizine) now or should i just wait?

Yes: As long as you are aware of possible side effects of Zyrtec (cetirizine) and that these may be magnified after taking the loratidine, you might find it works faster.  If otc antihistamines are not adequately controlling your allergy symptoms, or you need to use them daily to do so, then see an Allergist for an evaluation.  There are treatment strategies to bring lasting relief!

i took 10 mg of generic loratadine about 12 hrs ago. today i have been sneezing and had a runny nose all day (despite it being the middle of winter and not allergy season) so i took another 10 mg about a half hour ago. is this dangerous?

: Not particularly. The initial studies on this drug showed a good safety profile. It even tested 20 mg as the dose. It found 2 basic things. Twice as much did not increase side effects. Twice as much did not improve the anti=allergy effect. I wouldn't make it a habit as it wastes the drug.

for the last 8 days my skin is itching all over - when/if i scratch the entire area becomes red. i also have one boil on my penis? i have been taking generic claritin for the last 5 days. i don't have dry skin, but have started applying cetaphil?

Pseudoephedrine: Since the D in Claritin had been used to manufacture methamphetamine, I would suspect that it will produce a positive drug test.  As for Afrin nasal spray, it is difficult to tell since any absorption would be minor and thus likely detectable only with extremely sensitive method.   I hope other members in this panel will jump in on this topic.
