There : There has been much debate over this topic and there is no concrete evidence either way. Every doctor has there own philosophy regarding back up contraception while on oral contraceptives and gaking antibiotics. I personally do not think it is necessary but others may. If you want to be very cautious then go ahead and use a back up method while on antibiotics.

: The Antibiotic may diminish the therapeutic effect of the Estrogen component in Lo Estrin, but that effect is very minor. Additionally it will be also short term, if at all, if the antibiotic course is only several days

Not clear why BP up: You need a work up. You say you're anemic but you don't say by how much. You need to see a doc and get a complete history and physical exam and be treated. Your BP is only mildly elevated now but don't ignore it!
