Provigil/Nuvigil: These drugs work well for fatigue of any cause.  I like Modafinil (provigil) more than nuvigil, which is more potent by a factor of two.  And, you need to find the cause for fatigue and attempt to rectify it.  Remeber, most people with chronic fatigue are deconditioned because they don't exercise.  It is the simplest best medicine for cfs.

Yes: Those are several meds that can provide reasonable benefit you also should have a sleep study done to see if sleep issues can be the cause of the fatigue. See a rheumatologist for all of these issues.

Correct: There are a few things to rule out hypothyroid , anemia, epstein barr virus, cmv , all of these can cause a fatigue. I would also examine your sleep patterns , any obstructive sleep apnea ( yo need not be heavy for this some have narrow airway) Make sure these are checked and if nothing is found hopefully your fatigue will re=un its course

Chronic fatigue: Is daytime hypoarousal outside of another diagnosis.  It may be associated with a low pain threshold or you may have a mood or anxiety disorder.  Fasciculations on EMG fasculations, or muscle spasms, is seperate from chronic fatigue syndrome, but chronic fatigue can be a part of other problems, some of which you likely got the EMG for.  Do you have pain?, sleep well? Grind your teeth at night?

Not easy: This condition, perhaps as a sequel to a viral illness, causes tiredness, muscle aching, joint pain and mental fatigue.  More common in women, it can affect all age groups, responds poorly to medication, and in extreme cases leaves the patient mostly bedridden.  There is no laboratory testing that makes the diagnosis.  There are strong psychological underpinnings.

It's difficult to evaluate and treat.  There are many things that can help.

Many things!: Exercise.  Most chronic fatigue patients are whoefully deconditioned. It makes no difference: chicken or egg.  Exercise has been shown to lessen fatigue.  Sleep regular hours, but do not over sleep.  Finally, your doctor can prescribed low dose Nuvigil or provigil.
