i have chronic anal fissure. been eating more fibers but now my stool is coming out large no its making my fissures worse. is it becuase im not drinking enough water?  looked it up it said eat more fiber. use to have hard stool now soft snd large?

Surgery: The ultimate cure is surgical but if for some reason you cant or do not wish to do so the best would be to avoid straining with your bowel movements.
Stool softeners. Avoiding injecting constipation of binding foods like yams and dried meats.

Most likely : Diltiazem has been shown to help 86 out of every 100 fissures heal - so the odds are in your favor. 

It can take 6 weeks, if not longer for it to heal. So be patient, and stick with it. In the mean time, keep yourself well hydrated and take soe good fiber to soften your stools.

That's a problem 4: A colorectal surgeon. What a bummer to suffer for two years with this! There are treatments, and a colorectal surgeon is the right person to consult. With perianal abscesses or cysts that become infected repeatedly, the best treatment is to remove the entire cyst or sebaceous gland. There are excellent modern treatments and you may need antibiotics. Call your regular doc today explain what's up.

Surgical treatment for anal fissures is highly effective and recurrence is low. The procedure is called a lateral internal sphincterotomy and involves cutting a portion of the internal anal sphincter muscle. This helps the fissure heal and decreases pain and spasm.

Well,...: The increased pressure caused by the "Valsalva" maneuver when squatting can decrease the chances of your fissure ever properly healing. Since it has been over a year, it is best to see the GI/COLON Dr. and get it evaluated, wherein the treatment may involve Stopping the squats, at least for a short time, to allow the area to heal once treated. Chronic fissure: Initial chronic fissure treatment includes correcting any constipation or diarrhea along with medicated creams (nitroglycerin ointment and/or diltiazem). The meds are directed at physiologic relaxation of the internal sphincter. Should the fissure does not heal. despite these measures, then sphincterotomy is the next step and should allow healinge. Would recommend seeing  a colon &amp; rectal surgeon.

can adding iodized salt to a sitz bath help a chronic anal fissure heal that also has a sentinel pile?

Yes: Adding salt to the bath will help to draw out the swelling in the area which will improve the pain. It will not speed up healing process but it may make you more comfortable for longer period of time.

is it ok to do push-up and pull-up exercises while having internal hemorrhoids and   chronic anal fissure ?

Accepted Answer

Yes: These do not necessarily exclude forms of exertion. I would not hold my breath during the exercises as that puts extra pressure on the roids.
