Either way: Chlorine in pools is irritating to the eyes.  It does not matter if you have blepharitis or completely normal eyes.  I recommend if you swim regularly that you obtain a good pair of goggles, and you can smear a little skin cream on the rubber barrier inside of the goggle eyepieces to insure a good seal.

Chlorine in pools: Yes, chlorine in pools can definitely be a chemical irritant not only for asthma, but also for nasal and sinus conditions  and can lead to sinusitis that also can trigger asthma. So it's potentially a problem two ways. A lot of pools are being converted to salt water mixes that require a lot fewer chemicals. If you own the pool, you could check into that. It never hurts to bring up the possibility.

: Bromine like chlorine can produce coughing from its irritant quality. It is more stable but has a collection of skin irritant effects. True allergy is primarily based on exposure to organic (living/protein) compounds. Many chemical exposures can trigger allergy like events. One local pool with too much chlorine sent dozens of non-asthma patients to the ER with bronchospasm before it was closed.

Unlikely: Unless the chlorine is at toxic levels in the pool it will not generally cause vaginal irritation. Urinary tract infection will not be a direct result of chlorine exposure.

Unlikely: Neither the chlorine in the pool or your masturbation is causing your hives.  Have you consulted an allergist to get an evaluation since there are many types of hives and many causes for hives. Most hives can be controlled although the cause may never be known despite exhaustive studies.

chlorine, cyanuric acid, bromine, alternatives to chlorine, ph decreaser(sodium bisulfate), muriatic acid, ph increaser(sodium carbonate), soda ash, hardness increaser, algistat, algaecide, clarifier, enzymes
the list is long, and most chemicals can irritate skin, depending on the concentration and the duration of exposure.

Vulvodynia: You can try a few more things.  Vitamin a;d ointment combined with petrolatum (vaseline) could help.  You can also try Hydrocortisone over the counter in an ointment form.  Do not use the cream form as it contains alcohol. In terms of rx, your doc can give you a prescription for an estrogen topical medication which may help.
