Podiatrist: Chiropodist is a term than has not been used in the us for over 50 years.  We do a great deal of good helping patients with a myriad of foot and ankle problems whether they be surgical or non surgical means.  We have significant training and we are an integral part of wound care teams as well as the medical community.

Sure: Though I am not sure you will find a chiropodist anymore. Most are referred to as podiatrists. At least, in United States. I am unsure of other countries.

Local anesthesia: To numb the toe, and remove the part of the nail which is ingrown.

: Very  highly unlikely. Hepatitis C is blood borne illness and if there is no transfer of blood or other body fluids, you are not at risk of getting hepatitis C.

i saw chiropodist with what i thought were 3 lingering chilblains on right foot.they said they suspected dactylitis & have referred for urgent blood test.i have no pain at all. should i be concerned? what has caused this? 36yo female?

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests, depending on the findings. If you get pain, discharge, fever, or discoloration it would be prudent to see a doctor.

i had my ingrown toenail removed 2 weeks ago. recently blood and puss has withdrawn from the area and has been very sore. im going to the chiropodist soon? any heads up on what to expect. is it serious or will i just need antibiotics?

: I would soak in warm/hot water. Topical antibiotic if possible. You can also add vinegar. 2 tablespoons per quart of water  or 15 ml. Per liter of water.

Different w overlap: Chiropodists are foot and ankle technicians, while podiatrists are foot and ankle physicians. Chiropractors are more into whole body functioning with body adjustments and manipulations, with no surgery nor prescription medication.  Psyiotherapists are another term  for physical therapists who rehab injuries.  Osteopaths have become similar to MDs and are physicians that have  manipulation expertis
