i had excessive exposure to secound hand smoke as a child. as a young adult i developed asthma. is this because of the second hand smoke?

Possibly..  : There are many reasons for asthma to develop, including an inherent pre-disposition. But, in the right circumstances, second/hand smoke can certainly be one risk factor for asthma to develop. Other factors include respiratory infections, environmental allergies, occupational exposures etc.

what could cause bed wetting in an adult male? this started off and on as a child. i wet the bed almost every night. i had to have a hydrocele surgery as a young adult. could this be connected? what can i do about this bed wetting?

Enuresis: Bed wetting or nocturnal enuresis is a common problem.  Divided into two primary types: 1. functional bladder problem and 2. delay in nocturnal arginine vasopressin secretion.  Continence training and bed-wetting alarm helpful. Medical therapy includes Desmopressin and imipramine.

No: Bronchiolitis is normally seen in childhood.  There are some small studies that suggest that a child with RSV bronchiolitis maybe at risk to develop asthma.

DEET bug spray&kids: I usually do not recommend deet spray directly on kid's skin. It cna be sparyed on tho htier clothes instead. For exposed skin use some other insect repellants like citronella. Deet is known to be neurotoxic and can cause seizures in some rare cases. Better to be safe even if it is a rare incident!

No.: Severity of depression does not predispose one to mania. In fact, if someone has a lifelong history of depressive episodes without mania, they are likely to have more depressive episodes. A history of bipolar disorder symptoms makes it more likely that they will have mania as an adult, especially if untreated.

Don't loose sleep: A single application  of this in a kid is not going to hurt her. These products work by strangling the sensitive capillaries in the nose to shrink the swelling. An occasional use in a kid is likely fine but I wouldn't use it on a regular basis. I wouldn't use it in an older kid or adult for more than 3 days without a 1 week rest.

It could happen.: Sadly that could occur if the pneumonia did not receive prompt medical treatment or if there were further medical complications.

HOW YOUNG?: For adults no matter the age the treatment for anxiety would include a thorough evaluation to determine any medical or physical causes then therapy, relaxation techniques, meditation, exercise, good sleep hygiene, healthy eating habits, reduction of alcohol and caffeine. Consider depression and then may need medications like anti depressants or anxiolytics.

Need Diagnosis: You can only take Propranolol if you have been properly diagnosed with one of the medical conditions where it is medically indicated. It must be prescribed and monitored by a licensed provider.
