How long?: How long have symptoms been bothering you? How many of the zithromycin pills have you taken? It is a broad spectrum antibiotic, usually given 2 pills as a "loading" dose and 1 each day thereafter for 5 days. If not getting better at the end of medication, another consult with md is indicated. Pneumonia needs to ruled out, as it is a very serious problem for older patients.

Needs to see Doctor: A 2 yr old with high fever for several days almost always has an infection. Some viral infections don't need treatment, but a bad cough suggests pneumonia +/- wheezing, because of the preceding fever. No otc medicines are made to treat such problems in a 2 yr old. A doctor's exam is needed to check for pneumonia, and antibiotics are needed if there is pneumonia. Other cough disorders are possible.

Rest: Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen for the fever. If the vomiting was due to coughing/gagging, then treat the cough with warm liquids one/or honey. If the vomiting is unrelated to the cough, then offer small sips of clear liquids, until the vomiting stops. Then offer bland foods. If the vomit is green, bright yellow, bloody, or associated with stomach pain then go see your doctor.

Yes: Typically with flu there is fever cough and aches.
Elderberry is wonderful for the flu.
Homeopathic gelsemium is also great if you feel dull dopey droopy and dizzy.
Oscillococcinum homeopathic can also hep with the flu. Plenty of fluids, rest, and do not overdo.
