Depends: There are basically two types of electric toothbrushes. There is the ‘rotation-oscillation' type. Braun oral b seems to be the market leaders here. The other type are 'sonic' types. Phillips sonicare seems to lead the way here. As for which type is best, it is a personal preference. Both are effective at plaque removal. I personally would prefer the oscillation type.

Every electric: toothbrush manufacturer (except the "throw away" types) has attachments with various bristle degrees of hardness/softness..
Problem is you generally have to buy the item to find out!!  Speak with your PHARMACIST ..he/she is more likely to be able to answer your question or go online and compare the brands!  Hope this is helpful!

Ease of use: An electric or power brush is not necessarily better than a manual brush.  Both types of brushes are effective if used correctly and frequently.  The appeal of the power brush is its ease of use.  Just remember that the use of either type of brush doesn't exempt you from having to floss!

It does: The key with any toothbrush is consistency. Make sure you use it regularly and diligently around the areas where it's indicated. It'll never replace flossing though.

User beware: Both are excellent if used properly so is old fashion tooth brushing with a soft brush.

Use both: Electric toothbrush is to brush teeth on front back and the top... Where as waterpik helps to dislodhe plaque or foid in between the teeth..Would advise flossing.

Yes and no.: It really depends on how you look at.  It is possible to brush your teeth as effectively as battery powered brushes, however, brushes like the sonicare do most of the work for you.  Plus, they can motivate you to brush more regularly than a with a standard toothbrush, which is always better in my book.

Electric: I recommend electric toothbrush(sonicare). The vibrations are more effective than the battery.

Accepted Answer

Electric toothbrush: At one year of age you baby may not have her full set of teeth. Using an electric toothbrush may cause undue pain to the child and the vigorous vibrations may be harmful to the tooth enamel.
