Here/there is OK: Sugarless gum is probably not a bad thing..But anything in excess is not a good thing. Sugarless gum contains sorbitol...A laxitive and so excessive use may cause some stomach/intestinal upset etc...
Also, excessive chewing will strain your jaws/tmj, wear-out your teeth etc...So, moderation, rorome!

Depends : Chewing gum can stimulate saliva and this can be a good thing, especially if your mouth is dry.  It can bring the ph back to a normal level quicker.  Xylitol gums can kill decay causing bacteria.. Gums with sugar is bad and will cause decay.  Chewing can make TMJ pain worse.  Hope this helps.
