The best thing to do: is not to drive anywhere or to handle dangerous equipment until  sedation has worn off. These things can happen - just need to keep yourself safe  until you are more awake.

2 hours : Normal gastric empty time is 2 hours post meal. Hi fat and GI motility issues aside, this should be fine.  The food just delays absorption so drug would have less effect inducing sleep

is it safe to take 15mg of percocet at 7pm and take an ambien cr at 9:15pm?

Maybe: 15mg of oxycodone is a lot for someone who is not opioid tolerant.  To follow this up with ambien can be very dangerous if u are not opioid tolerant.

i've never taken ambien cr. i took ambien for five years long term. no longer works like it once did. explained to sleep doc and he still wants me to try it?  w the trazodone 150 mg i stopped after being on it for a year and it stopped working.

May work better: Ambient CR is a slightly higher dose than the regular ambien (zolpidem) and it is a controlled release (CR) so that the medicine is enters your bloodstream over an extended period of time, so it may help keep you asleep longer.  I hope it helps!

insomnia for twenty years.  successful taking 1-1.5 mg klonazapam,  1/2-1pill of ambien cr and either advil pm or benadryl (diphenhydramine).  lately can't sleep and want to up kl to 2mg.   thoughts? ty

Interesting: You imply medications are your only solution.  Please read more.  As you age, sleep can become more fragmented, and medical problems can grow.  Make sure you are physically engaged in appropriate exercise one hour a day, with 8 hours of casual activity to avoid daytime napping or weight gain.  Update your sleep study if you have gained 20 pounds since the last.  Consider Acupuncture and Meditation

There really isn't 1: Best sleep medicine for bipolar disorder. There are many medications that drs use to treat sleep such as zolpidem (ambien or Ambien cr), Eszopiclone (lunesta), Ramelteon (rozerem), zaleplon (sonata), silenor (doxepine), antidpressants ; benzodiazapines. Antidepressants would not be on the top of  my list to give with  bipolar  disorder. Your dr/ psychiatrist can help determine the best med for you.

Ambien (zolpidem): Zolpidem (Ambien (zolpidem)) is indicated for short-term treatment of insomnia with difficulty of sleep onset. Ambien (zolpidem) produces tolerance and dependence when used long-term. Although trazodone is efficacious for sleep maintenance difficulties, its use in insomnia is off-label and is associated with cognitive and motor impairments. Long-term treatment with medication alone is not the optimal treatment strategy

Next steps: Dr Grim's suggestions should be heeded.  Do you have a firm diagnosis regarding cause for SFN?  Are you taking a specific medication to deal with nerve pain?  Are you taking biologically active B vitamins?  Do you have a neurologist experienced in category of peripheral neuropathy?  I too believe your pursuit of sleeping pills will be fraught with failure due to evolving tolerance.  Suggest above.

Not in this country: Ambien (zolpidem) is a perscription medication in this country. Buying it without a prescription is not approved, generic or brand name.

Yes: It is safe to take both as there are no interactions between those 2 medicines.
