Some separately: Best to take calcium or magnesium supplements at different time than other minerals. Taking magnesium or iron wi food helps prevent GI upset. Vit A, D, E, &amp; K are absorbed better wi fatty foods. Vit A is better absorbed when combined wi Vit E. Vit C helps iron absorption. Taking Vit D wi dinner vs breakfast helps absorption. Avoid taking Vit D,E or K at the same time as other fat soluble vits.

For multivitamins  (mvi) that is usually once a day and if its not at the same time each day its ok. Understand that in healthy individuals who eat a balanced diet there is no evidence that mvi's are helpful nor will they make up for an unhealthy diet.

It is okay to stop the vitamins and it is okay to experiment with other brands to see if they are less hard on your tummy.

Yes: A malabsorbtion disorder, vitamin deficient diet, some intestinal parasites or a psychological need to feel you are doing something good for yourself.  The average us diet will provide adequate vitamin intake so that there is no need for supplements.  When there is a specific vitamin deficiency it is due to a disease process and multi-vitamins are not necessary.  Just the vitamin lacking.
