Need more info: First step would be to compare to an old cxr.  If no previous cxr for comparison then consider f/u in 6 weeks or ct scan of chest if the patient has risk factors.

IT IS : a "Non-Specific" findings and are the impression of the Radiologist. This has to be combined with CLINICAL judgement and knowledge of the patient!

: The wording means it is a normal x-ray study of the chest. The radiologists get fussed at if they just say normal so they describe what they see.

: The negative chest x ray is re assuring. If the cough is productive, sputum may be sent for analysis, monitor temperature and avoid over use of cough preparations. For cough lingering more than 4 weeks, please follow up. Avoid smoke exposure and common allergens such as dust, mold and pollen.  Consider allergy testing and treat post nasal drip with nasal saline after discussion with your PCP.

Vessels can be prominent due to heart failure (usu. upper lung, in aged). &gt; vessels on the rt. ?pectus, AKA pigeon chest.
?prior films and mostly clinical assessment w/ Pulmonary or Internal Med.

Several things: Interstitial markings in lungs are characterized by lines and dots with disease processes affecting the intersititium.Interstitium, lace-like network of tissue that extends throughout both lungs, provides support to the lungs alveoli. Tiny blood vessels travel through  interstitium, allowing gas exchange between blood and  air. Fibrosis or scarring, infection, changes from smoking.Asbestosis, etc.

Shade o'Gray. Use...: HT Prime. The perihilar region is the part of the lung where the airways &amp; arteries enter. "Increased attenuation" means that the picture (actually, the negative) is brighter. That could be from the presence of inflammatory fluid or infection or congestion, but most often means that the Radiologist ought to check his glasses or equipment. Without symptoms, it's a meaningless (but costly) finding.
