Odd  symptoms: Given the age,location &amp;  description the most likely origin is from the end of her swallow tube as it enters the stomach. This is just behind the heart. Stomach acid backwash can easily trigger stabbing or gnawing pain &amp; the stomach muscle squeezes the contents to mix its contents.(producing movement) Avoiding caffeine, nicotine or lying down after meals can help. Using an acid reducer helps also

: Please see urgent care. You may be experiencing an asthma attack or an allergic reaction.  You may need a course of steroids. Discuss possible triggers such as new exposures to an inhaled or an ingested trigger. Blood and imaging testing may include an eosinophil count, WBC and differential count and chest x ray. Watch for signs of shortness of breath, cough and wheezing.

What's the cause?: Are you just "hungry" or is there more? Need to rule out infection, malabsorption, inflammation, ischemia, dysmotility, functional issue, or even a problem outside the gut.  Medical evaluation is recommended appropriate to the duration of your symptoms, associations (bleeding, weight loss, pain, vomiting), as well as your other medical co-morbidities.  Call your doctor please and get checked.

: It is not feasible to provide an opinion without additional history, physical examination may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor to see if you may be depressed. Depression is treatable. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water.
