Most likely not.: At 22yo, the chances that this chest discomfort is a serious heart problem are LOW. Most likely, this is an acid-peptic problem. Try antacids, Zantac, or Prilosec OTC to see if you can shut down heartburn.

Anything: Could be a problem with skin, nerves, muscle, shoulder, lung, heart, or stomach. See your doctor for a more thorough history, physical exam and further evaluation. If she sleeps on her stomach she could have a neck strain that radiates pain to the chest or arm.

GI vs heart: If pain goes away with passing gas, the source of pain is almost certainly the GI tract and not the heart. Part of the colon (large intestine) is just below the heart so the pain can sometimes be felt in the chest. Echo's, ecgs, and holters will not show GI issues. See a gastroenterologist if your symptoms continue.

If not acute changes over the last 8 months, then schedule appointment with your doctor. If a sudden change occurs or shortness of breath develops then report to ER

: My hunch is that it is a problem with you stomach acid and GERD. Your body is talking to you. Listen to it and take good notes.Share with your Drs   You all will figure it out.  Very unlikely related to you heart at your age.
