in my chest ct result there is lymph node 4l with size 0.7 x 0.5 cm. the other result is normal. the pulmonologist said the result is normal. is it common to find normal lymph node on the chest ct? any other ct scan needed? thank you?

Symptoms : Your symptoms of infection and illness help to determine the next step. If you are not well,coughing,febrile, additional tests include cultures. An isolated lymph node finding if otherwise well, can be followed by another appointment with your physician. Watch for signs of infection and weight loss.
A screening test if you have traveled or have high risk For TB is recommended.

Lymph nodes: Lymph nodes are normally present in the mediastinum.  We all have them.  Unless they are abnormally enlarged( and it sounds like yours aren't) they are probably of no concern.

: Depending on one's presenting symptoms, there are usually good reasons why the Doctor ordered the  Chest CT Scan.  The attending Physician is therefore in the best position to give one the interpretation of the report.

Explanation: No, it is not the same. Intrapulmonary lymph nodes are abnormal findings , but could be benign!! And accidental findings  related old  infection. You have to discuss this with your doctor, please.

Very small: Lymph nodes that are 3 mm are very small.  Usually a cancer of the lung will be seen on CT scan and have lymoh nodes of 1 cm and multiple.  Why did you get ct scan?  You will need to see and discuss with your ordering doctor.  Do you have a life style at risk like smoking? And other factors.  For any risks see and discuss with a thoracic surgeon.
