constantly been checking cervix position for ovulation. expected 2/25. today realized some blood when i touched it. also took plan b 4 days ago. is the bleeding sign of pregnancy or from ec or from irritation?

: I guess you are about to have an early period after taking plan B. I wonder why you check your cervix for ovulation but you took plan B. If you do that for avoiding sex during ovulation time then you should use contraceptive method, i.e. condom, which is more reliable and it can prevent STDs. Take care!

i have irregular bleeding, pain an bleeding during sex and today when i had a smear test i bled when the nurse touched my cervix do i have cancer?

No necessarily.: Your symptoms can be caused by many other benign conditions. The pap smear was the right first step to as part of your work up. Most patients with cervical cancer will have an abnormal pap smear which should then be followed up with a colposcopy examination of the cervix with biopsies.  Cervical cancer or pre cancerous condition known as dysplasia can be diagnosed by colposcopy.

went to my gynecologist she did a pap smear. do to i have hpv she barely touched my cervix and it started bleeding some.?

Complication?: I know of no specific relationship between pap smear post procedural bleeding and hpv infection. That said, you may want to follow-up sooner with your physician to double check that there is not some sort of complication (some spotting maybe ok but frank hemorrhage may need to be rechecked).

i have been having irregular  bleeding (between  periods and after  intercourse), painful intercourse, foul watery discharge and cervix bleeds when touched for more than 2 years, haven't  had a pap smear in 6 and a half years. could it be cervical cancer?

Yes, must be checked: Women who are sexually active cannot go 6 years between Pap smears and Gyn exams. Nor can they wait 2 years while having foul vaginal discharge. Cancer is a possibility, and the most serious one. A doctor's evaluation is needed this week. That means not waiting until next week. Friends and family members should be able to help, if financial or transportation help is needed.

Do not worry: You have friable cervix , may be due to infection or some cell changes.  You dotor has taken sample from the cervix to test for infection as well as any dysplasia, just wait or the result at this time.Your doctor will notify you of any findings.

: Bright red blood means tissue damage. It may be from a cut, scratch or abrasion that might self-heal if left alone, or it may be more serious. If it is a trickle and slows down quickly you can monitor this &amp; hope for the best. If you are filling pads it is time to get checked out.

No: Prolapse is when pelvic organs are dropping or falling from their normal position.  Bleeding issues and prolapse are not related.

Accepted Answer

Not likely: It's unlikely that the polyp will cause a miscarriage as they are usually small, but your doctor needs to check to be certain it's the cause of the bleeding.

can i have bleeding after having hysterectomy leaving cervix in?

Accepted Answer

Yes: If the cervix was left in, there can still be a small amount of uterine tissue remaining.  Its possible to have some bleeding.  If you still have your ovaries, the bleeding can be cyclic just like your period used to be.  It can be a bummer if you were expecting to be period-free.
