Naah: Cellulitis is an infection of the deeper skin structures. You would really have to claw at the eye to get cellulitis. But anything is possible i guess, especially if there is a deep wound.

Hard to predict: Her history of febrile seizures would have no relationship to whether or not she has a significant problem. Incubation period is 10-21 days with average 14. If she breaks out  and you bathe her often &amp; monitor the spots, you can stop most 2ndary infections before they get out of hand.

Cellulitis: Have you actually been diagnosed with periorbital cellulitis? If so, then you should be on antibiotics. In general, one can say the eyes are more swollen in the morning so any tendency to swelling will be worse at that time.

CELLULITIS: Physical exam may give clues but gold standard is a contrast-enhanced CT scan of the face/orbits.  If you suspect deep tissue infection of face/orbits go to the emergency department ASAP as time is of the essence to optimize treatment success.

Allergies: Probably not, because orbital cellulitis is an infection that can be present over a short time, but doesn't come and go.
