Wisdom Teeth: It's controversial whether impacted wisdom teeth cause crowding or not.  If you have pain, it's possible the wisdom teeth are the cause.  Overcrowding can certainly be helped with braces, the best thing would be visit a dentist to check on the wisdom teeth and to see what the cause of pain is.  They can also give their opinion of braces, it's almost always better to treat crowding earlier.

Yes: The more crowded teeth are, the more overlapping of teeth. They continue to cross over at increasingly lower position, away from the top of the teeth. As a result, the gum gets pushed down lower, to which the bone also responds by moving down. As the teeth move into more crowded position, the bite changes and create traumatic pressure. All that--bone loss and heavy bite--causes teeth to loosen.

Crowding: Extracting your wisdom teeth may make room for ortho to unravel your crowded teeth.  Ortho will help only, if in fact, uncrowding your teeth will help you tmj.

7 yo x-ray showed crowding on canine and molars and peg lateral incisors. referred to orthodontist for initial consultation. what should i expect? are two-phase treatments worth it at that age? also, what causes peg teeth?

: Peg laterals are usually caused by genetics or they're just a developmental anomaly. Not common, but not unheard of. Multiple phase treatment is often necessary since all of his teeth have not yet erupted, yet the ones that are present need treatment now to help guide the rest of his dentition and influence his facial bones. Adults with straight teeth have less periodontal issues. It's worth it.

i have crowded teeth and they have some mobility. my orthodontist has said it is caused by pressure from crowding but with my regular brushing, it will not ever fall out. should my teeth soon enough tighten a bit after i get braces and an expander?

: Malpositioned teeth trap food and bacteria more so than teeth that are properly aligned. Orthodontic care together with proper brushing, flossing, and professional hygiene visits should resolve your problem.

Not related: It's a myth that wisdom teeth cause tooth crowding anteriorly. And after extraction, certainly not. Rather, with time, teeth push forward in the jaws naturally. This phenomena is called mesial drift and is a natural process.
