subside.

require either physical therapy or a surgical procedure.

Patellar dislocation: Is alway laterally (to the outside of knee).  It tends to reocurr. Make the inside muscles of front of thigh stronger by bending knee slightly and lifting it across other knee (like when you cross legs when sitting down). Do repetitions if 5-10 throughout the day. This will keep patella align in the middle so it does not dislocate laterally.

Patellar dislocation: Patella dislocation occurs when the patella (kneecap) completes separates and dissociates from the trochlea tearing the medial retinaculum and/or medial patellocemoral ligament with the bony patella positioned in the lateral gutter. Often time articular cartilage damage can occur at the medial facet of the patella and/or lateral femoral condyle.

may require a surgical procedure to help realign the patella.
It is important to have an orthopedic exam and possibly an mri

who run.
The use of quad strengthening will help
a patella instability issue.
Also use of a patella stabilization sleeve
will help somewhat.
I would recommend running on level

crouching.

Yes, if properly...: If properly treated yes. But you may have contibuting factors which make it occur. Being knock kneed can potentiate this, as can hypermobility. A Chop-pat knee strap can help!
