my question is what causes the left front big muscle/vein on your neck to be larger than the right plus muscle tightness ?

Positional change.: The veins in the neck just as the veins in the rest of the body change in size depending on changes in position as well as changes in levels of hydration and changes in pressure in the chest and abdominal cavity. In the neck, the veins decrease with standing and increase with lying down.  Straining or laughing increase the the pressure in the chest which can increase the size of the facial veins.

Pinched Nerve/Muscle: Most times back pain that is sudden onset will resolve. He should use anti-inflammatory meds like ibuprofen, aleve around the clock and even tylenol (acetaminophen) to help.  If this does not resolve you should see your doctor for a muscle relaxant as well.  If it still does not resolve, I would recommend seeing a spine specialist for a full evaluation and testing. You may need to get an MRI to see inside.

can adderrall and/or vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) cause muscle pain, particularly in the neck? ever since i started adderrall most recently switched to vyvanse, (lisdexamfetamine) i have hadeextremely bad muscle tightness in my neck.

Other to consider: You need to consider all things . Not always side effects are the mainstay of medications . Localized tension , myofascial ain , fibromyalgia probably associated to the same symptoms that originated the use of hese meds among many considerations.

Occipital neuralgia: The most common symptom is suboccipital pain radiating to the back of the head and occasionally down the back of the neck. Tenderness over the neck is common. During severe episodes, the pain may be felt in the retro-orbital, temporal areas, dizziness, vertigo and lightheadedness. 
Rec.: see an orofacial pain or pain management specialist.

Maybe? But see a doc: Many things can cause neck pain. Certainly sleeping on a pillow that's not the right fit for you can cause such things. I note that you talk about foot numbness in "conditions". That raises the possibility of disc issues in your back, and possibly your neck. To further assess that, you really need a good physical examination and some imaging to look into the issue. Muscle tension: If you wish to avoid taking muscle relaxants like flexeril or robaxin, (methocarbamol) consider stress management therapy. Wearing a soft cervical collar off and on takes pressure of the neck. For sciatic pain which is chronic, epidural corticosteroid injections and/or surgery may be needed and follow up with a neurosurgeon is advisable.
