Should not: Cause a cramp. That would be from something else. As you have ehlers danlos  you could have pulled something . You need an eval!!

Signs : Signs of a blood clot include calf aching, cramping, swelling, and sometimes pain in the upper leg or even groin.  Pain is usually worse when the leg is hanging down.  The pain is in the soft part of the lower leg.  Chest pain and shortness of breath are signs of a clot that has gone to the lungs.  Risk factors for deep venous thrombosis include oral contraceptives use, blood disorders such as factor c, s, or other blood disorders, family history, obesity, immobilization such as in a cast or a patient at bedrest, and travel.   Diagnosis is made by an ultrasound study (duplex) of the leg.

Try the calf stretch: If one stretches the calf muscles, one by one, by putting first the toe of one foot up against the wall and leaning into the wall, stretching that calf muscle; then switch sides and put the other toe up against the wall, then lean toward the wall, stretching the other calf.  Doing multiple stretches of each calf, morning an night, might prevent further cramps.

Depends: It depends on the specific cause of the cramps, which can sometimes be related to a subtle electrolyte abnormality among other possible causes.  It is not really a “normal” complaint in a 25 year old and so a medical checkup and discussion with your primary care doctor would be a good idea.

Leg cramps: Nocturnal leg cramps are often caused by too tight calf muscles. Before going to bed do a fair amount of stretching of both calves to see if the nocturnal leg cramping ends.

Stretching: Before and after exercise or sports. Adequate warm up and cool down to prevent cramps that are caused by vigorous physical activity. Good hydration before, during, after the activity esp if it is more than one hour  to replace lost electrolytes esp sodium & potassium, which are major components of sweating .Should avoid excessive fatigue especially in warm weather.
