Haematochesia: Or bright red blood per rectum denotes pathology of the lower Gi tract. The differential includes a variety of conditions with the most common for you age range being hemorrhoids or piles, anal fissure or inflammatory bowel disease among others. Would recommend starting by seeing your doc for an exam. In the interim avoid constipation and prolonged seating, maintain good hydration and exercise.

Could be bad: Should have this looked at.  Bleeding from the behind for three months starts looking less like hemorrhoids and more like one of the more sinister causes of bleeding such as tumor.

Bleeding: Rectal bleeding can be for various causes: hemorrhoids, fissure, diverticulum, polyp or inflammatory problem.  Rectal bleeding should be evaluated with a rectal exam. You should be seen.

Adrenal Hemorrhage: Not certain what you mean by "back passage".  If they operated on the adrenal and have a drain in place one might see bleeding.  They adrenal has been put in a hard to get and see region, prob for our protection. Check with your Dr.   I would do so now.

Constipation: Bleeding from backside (as when you wipe your anus w/toilet paper) is most likely due to fissure or hemorrhoid, especially in 19yo. Without blood mucous stool, fever or weight loss, it's doubtful that bleeding is due to inflammatory bowel disease. Colon cancer is very rare in teenagers. However, combination of constipation &amp; inability to lose weight makes me think of hypothyroidism so check TSH.

Rectal bleeding...: Rectal bleeding is a good reason to go see your doctor.  It might be something as benign as a hemorrhoid or it could be a sign of something as serious as cancer.  Don't ignore symptoms of rectal bleeding.  Good luck!

Rectal bleed: If i understand you correctly, you are having rectal bleed. There are many causes for that, including hemorrhoids, tumors, dilated blood vessels etc.  You should go ahead with the colonoscopy (camera) to determine the cause and get treated.

using travocort to treat small lumps around back passage that sting when urine or water touches them. they also bleed bright red blood (small amounts) after wiping. since using the cream (applied it approx 5 times to date) the lumps have grown white heads

Pain and bleeding: Rectal pain and bleeding is usually a fissure. Internal hemorrhoids usually bleed painlessly and external hemorrhoids usually hurt and don't bleed. If the fissure is chronic, present for more than a couple of months, the pain and bleeding may resolve but that does not mean the fissure is gone. Have an expert examine to confirm actual healing of the fissure once symptoms resolve.

A number of causes: There are numerous causes of bleeding from the rectum ranging from self limiting and benign to serious.  Generally in a 22 yo it tends toward the former. If persistent or recurrent that can only be determined by a physical examination by your physician.
