Free fluid in uterus: There can be many reasons for a pocket of free fluid in the uterus.  Most likely is a result of secretions from the uterine glands, and may not signify anything is abnormal.  If you are having normal cycles have a follow up sonogram after your next menses. Doubt that is a pregnancy.

Yes: This could be early pregnancy related. However, many young women have fluid in the uterine cavity at midcycle, one of the reasons that cervical mucous discharge becomes thin and heavier during ovulation.

It's : It's hard to answer this question without knowing exactly what the ultrasound report said. It's entirely normal for a woman to have a small amount of fluid in the pelvis around the time of ovulation.  A large amount of fluid, or fluid in a woman who is post-menopausal, would be unusual.  What is thickened?  The endometrial stripe, which represents the linig of the uterus, changes its thickness dramatically during the menstrual cycle, so this may also be totally normal.  An extremely thick endometrium could represent something called endometrial hyperplasia or adenomyosis, though these words would probably show up very specifically in your report.

Ultrasound can miss a very early pregnancy.  However, by the time you miss a period, there may very well be signs of a pregnancy visible in the uterus.

Hematometra: Blood inside the cavity  will show up on sonogram. This can be verified by repeating the sonogram at a different time in the next menstrual cycle. If your doctor is concerned an endometrial biopsy can be done to drain the fluid and sample the tissue. If the doctor is more concerned a specialized sonogram called a sonohystogram or hysteroscopy can be performed. Ask doc if any of these are warranted

Likely normal.: Every month when you have your period, the lining in your uterus breaks down and you pass it with some blood clots.  There would be fluid in your uterus at that time.

In the early part of the cycle (the few days/week) after the end of your period is when there would be either no or the least amount of fluid. Your uterine lining then reforms to be ready for a pregnancy.

Pls discuss w/ your doctor.

If u still have your: Ovaries or 1 ovary must r/o ovarian cyst or tumor, could also be bowel problems, etc, please see your gyn for a work up.

Not really: a retroverted uterus can sometimes cause some lower back pain during pregancy- just the way your anatomy is- not dangerous.

Yes: Yes - definitely.  Have your doc do a pregnancy test and a follow up ultrasound if necessary.  Very early pregnancy can show a small amount of fluid in the uterus.

Maybe but: A pregnancy test is more reliable.
