It is important to see a neurosurgeon for evaluation, or a orthopedist who specializes in the spine, for full evaluation and treatment, surgery is an option.

: You don't mention what your symptoms are. I'm not sure that wearing down of intervertebral discs leads to spinal stenosis. The discs would have to herniate and press on the spinal cord to do that. I recommend consulting a neurosurgeon to assess your symptoms and your MRI findings.and advise you.

Spinal issues: stenosis is simply another word for "narrowing" of the space. So it's possible that a herniation (something going into a space it's not supposed to) is causing the narrowing. However herniation is not always the permanent disk problem people always think and this may be a different disc level. I'm not aware of the imaging obviously. Make sure to follow up with your physician to go over the imaging

Cervical stenosis: ...Hmm, only if it caused a severe sudden disc herniation or perhaps a fracture, otherwise stenosis is a process of gradual degeneration and not an acute disease.  
What can happen is that stenosis symptoms suddenly worsen due to alittle instability that occurred during the fall, and tight nerves were suddenly squeezed some more, and that gave you the symptoms... Good luck!

Many prospects: Stenosis may be caused by any structure that occupies space in the spinal canal leading to crowding of the nerve roots. This could include bulging/herniating discs, thickening of the joints or ligaments and the presence of cysts. This can occur with a single entity or any combination of structures. However, pain may  also not be due to stenosis. It could be inflammation, poor blood flow, etc.
