No, not safe: either or both can increase blood pressure, you are under treatment for hypertension as well, please arrange to see your pcp or an allergist to adjust your meds, precribe other meds accordingly, check aaaai.org or acaai.org for an allergist in your area, if you have seen one already and not convinced check a second opinion, it's your right, goodluck

High BP: Phenylephrine and decongestants in general stimulate receptors that constrict blood vessels ( that is how they decongest) and raise hr.  These combined effects raise bp.

i have covid-19 and my nose is severely congested. i can't take decongestant with phenylephrine because they make me restless and cause palpitations. can i use flonase at least?

: You can try Flonase, which is a steroid and it will help decrease inflammation. You can also get saline nasal spray which can help thin the mucous and help ease your nasal congestion. Hope you feel better real soon. Good luck!

Yes: Loratadine is an antihistamine (decrease itching, runny nose)and phenylephrine is a decongestant (decrease stuffiness, congestion).  Decongestants like phenylephrine may be used for a short duration to relieve congestive symptoms. Need to monitor your blood pressure as it can cause very elevated blood pressures while on this medicine.

Not recommended: They are both decongestants and have similar effects. I recommend taking the highest effective dose for you of one or the other, not both. I tend not to recommend this to people with poorly controlled high blood pressure, prostate problems, or cardiovascular disease.
