In some cases on chest back and even on face tbere may be raised scar tissue. Treatment can include dermal fillers such as artefill, subcison or scar release, and fractionated co2 or erbium laser to improve appearance of scars. Repeated sessions can achieve over 50% improvement.

Multiple options: Acne scars come in several "flavors."  there are ice pick scars, boxcar scars, rolling scars and atrophic scars.  Acne scars are difficult to treat.  There is no "magic bullet."  scar excision/revision, injectable fillers/fat, subcision, laser, chem peel, dermabrasion, etc. Many treatments can "improve" the flatness of the scar, and/or texture of the skin, but it will not make your skin flawless.

Combination therapy: Acne scarring is a complex and difficult issue to treat.  Most acne scarring requires repeated treatments to improve acne scars.  Beware that acne must be under control first prior to treating the scar component.

medical roll-cit
dermabrasion
subcision and filler
some lasers
prp (platlet rich plasma).

It's a mystery.: scars can only happen after trauma, injury, or infection. If none of these happened, I don't know how you get it. Dry skin would not cause "scar".

Creams are weak.: Acne scars are hard to fix with a cream because the scarring is so deep.  You can use some retin a (tretinoin) or glycolic based product that might give some improvement but you will probably need to do some deeper skin resurfacing like a chemical peel or laser peel.  Another option is needling techniques.

There : There are several ways to improve acne scars.  Small punch excisions of "ice-pick" scars can be helpful but it does leave a tiny mark at the site of each removal.  For more shallow scars, chemical peels, dermabrasion, or laser resurfacing can work well.  It is hard to make scarring go away completely, but most of these methods can improve your scarring.  I would recommend that you go to a dermatologist to determine which method or combination of methods would be best for you.

Dermabrasion : Dermabrasion does have a risk of leaving discolouration of the skin and the risk is higher if you have dark skin.  A safer, and probably more effective treatment would be one of the fractionated lasers, especially the non-ablative lasers (fraxel) if you have dark skin.

Imperfect healing: Acne pimples occur when the immune system detects the clump (comedone) of skin cells blocking a pore, trapping oils inside the skin, and also trapping some bacteria. The bacteria and oils leak into the skin, causing a reaction in which the immune system sends white blood cells in to push all of the stuff out of the body. After the pimple ruptures, it heals but imperfectly, leaving little scars.
