suffering from cushing syndrome for 3 years. don't know what caused it. what tests should i go for to find out the cause of cushing syndrome??

Cushings: On steroids?Prednisone/adrenal mass  causes Cushings  syndrome.  Causes of Cushings Disease are pituitary adenoma (MRI -not 100%) or  increased secretion of corticotropin releasing hormone from hypothalmus , Tests  plasma  corticotropin , salivary/ blood cortisol, 24urinary free cortisol  dexamethasone supression, giving corticotropin releasing hormone, rarely sinus sampling. F/u w/ endocrine

Yes: There are changes that appear in the face (and throughout the body) as a result of cushing's syndrome.  Typically they are described as "moon facies" meaning the face takes a rounded appearance.  Discuss your symptoms with your doctor treating your cushing's.  Best wishes.

Yes: Cushing's syndrome by definition is high level of cortisol in the body.  If the cause was taking too much cortisol and you successfully weaned off of it, then you no longer have cushing's syndrome.  Moon face could also resolve but this takes a lot longer.

Cushing's Syndrome: Is caused by production of excessive cortisol by using medications or by a tumor in the pituitary.  High stress or emotional trauma cannot cause this.

A pituitary hormone: In addison's disease, the adrenal glands stop making cortisol.  The pituitary gland (just below the brain) makes massive amounts of a hormone called acth to try to get the adrenal glands to make more cortisol, but they can't. Along with the acth, the pituitary also secretes another hormone (msh) that stimulates skin cells to make more melanin, causing it to darken.

Not usually: I'd look for another condition such as peptic ulcer disease, gastroesophageal reflux, biliary tract disease, or cholecystitis, just to name a few

Hormonal...: It is hormonal problem where the body experiences changes due to too much glucocorticoids which might be elevated for different reasons like for example adrenal tumors( usually benign), medications, other hormonal issues. Symptoms can be weight gain, elevated blood sugar, fatigue, muscle weakness, moon face, among others.

Often time, you need multiple or all of the tests above to make an accurate diagnosis.
