Resistance: Everyone gets colds and flu but symptoms can persist  if resistance is low from  fatigue  , allergies, vitamin deficiency  or chronic illnes.

Contagious: Get a health department inspection and immunize your staff against influenza, Careful hand washing, antibacterial soap/gel and an educational program for stff to prevent contagious illness.

Dry: Long periods of exposure to dry air can irritate the throat and cause nasal congestion etc. Get a cool mist humidifier.

Cold vs flu: Colds often are without fever, and usually not as high as 102. Other differences: influenza doesn't usually cause much nasal congestion (stuffy and runny nose, sneezing); colds do. In addition to fever, flu often causes body-wide muscle aching; the common cold usually does not. Still, there's much overlap, and flu often needs an antiviral drug like Tamiflu. So check with your doctor if in doubt.

Prodromal symptoms.: You maybe suffering from prodromal symptoms causing a feeling of unease, dizziness, nonspecific aches which can feel like anxiety.

Cold-virus: Viral illnesses can sometimes take longer than you would like to recover form totally.  Be patient and slowly increase your diet to tolerable food from previous days.  If you do not get better in a few days still , then see the Dr. for and evaluation.

ANY VIRAL: infection can produce muscle discomfort!  A common cold is caused by a VIRUS!

Geodon (Ziprasidone): and withdrawal from Geodon (ziprasidone) may cause flu-like symptoms, though rare. Ziprasidone should be taken with food (at least 500 kcal, irrespective of fat content) for optimal and reproducible bioavailability of the administered dose. Otherwise daily levels may fluctuate. Side effects should gradually diminish. If not and intolerable, consult your prescriber. Best regards for relief.

Call 911 or...: Start CPR if you are comfortable to do so.  However,  apnea (stop breathing ) after cough spell due to cold or flu is very rare.
