Amoxicillin: It is actually, with normal kidney function, to overdose on penicillin-type antimicrobials.  Most complications of treatment are not due to too high a dose but rather allergies or drug-associated diarrhea or colitis.

Only a few? No: If you took a whole bottle of the antibiotic while you have kidney failure, then yes- however, I am assuming you may have taken a few extra tablets (1-3), which is not typically associated with an antibiotic "overdose".

High but ok: i recommend 30-40 mg/kg which would correspond to about 500 mg per day...you were prescribed 800. I doubt this will have any toxic effect, but it does seem a bit high.

Varies by dose and…: if other (interacting) meds/supplements R being taken. Half-life is 61.3 min; 60% of the dose is excreted in urine 6-8 hrs after dose. Generally a med is cleared from the system within 10 half-live, thus about 10 hours. Other meds may prolong its presence in the body; so side effects may last longer. Yes it can..: Headache is listed as one of the top ten side effects of amoxicillin--nausea, vomitting, diarrhea are among the most frequent side effects. If it is bothersome, stop the med and inform your doc asap for an alternative if needed. At times,  mild headache can be controlled with tylenol/motrin etc..Consult your doc. Good luck.

Possibly: Any antibiotic can cause antibiotic associated gastrointestinal issues. Gas could be one of those. One possible mechanism would be that the antibiotics changes the bacterial make up of the intestines leading to the symptoms that you described. I always encourage patients to use a probiotic while on antibiotics.

Doubtful : Gallstones are caused by an imbalance of bile salts, lecithin and cholesterol. What causes this is probably multifactorial, and heavily dependent on genetics, either inherited or acquired. While it is possible an antibiotic could contribute, it is very unlikely. Especially with short term use.

Take proper dose: In case of overdosage, discontinue medication, treat symptomatically, and institute supportive measures.  A prospective study of 51 pediatric patients at a poison-control center suggested that overdosages of less than 250 mg/kg of Amoxicillin are not associated with significant clinical symptoms.
