Wart not appearance: Most warts are caused by HPV.   There are hundreds of subtypes of HPV, but if your physician has diagnosed those skin lesions as warts, then they are most likely due to HPV.  It doesn't need to look "cauliflower".

: Most ObGs understand that newly diagnosed HPV does not necessarily mean the virus was acquired recently, or that sexual infidelity is involved. It has been estimated that a quarter of all people get genital warts at one time or another. None of them "deserve" them and neither do you. This isn't your fault or the fault of any past sex partner. It's just part of life. Good luck in your treatment.

HPV: Genital warts are caused by certain strains of HPV (Human Papilloma Virus). Common warts of hands and plantar warts are caused by other strains of HPV.

Yes: there are many types of HPV and most people who have it never see warts.  So, some types of HPV would show up as warts, but virus lives deeper.

No: There are 99 species of the hpv and one species has little to do with the other. The hpv vaccine is limited to only one species of hpv, which is not the one that causes common warts we get on the skin. Warts can be pretty frustrating, so be persistent under the care of a dermatologist.

: Those who have active genital warts are considered contagious as long as they are present. They can disappear in a 2 year period from a natural immune response or be removed by laser/chemicals/freezing. There may be residual viral shedding (contagious) for a period after removal from unrecognized tissue sources.Condoms help some when the wart is covered but completely. When all gone=not contagious

Yes: The vaccine only covers for 4 types of hpv, so you can be infected with a strain that is not in the vaccine.
