Probably not: Milk thistle (silybum) is an herbal supplement that contains silymarin, a flavenoid compound that is said to reduce liver inflammation - but this effect is not well defined. Side effects include occasional stomach upset and diarrhea. Allergic reactions can occur. Neither silybum nor castor oil should cause abdominal pain for a month. You may want to get this pain checked out by your doctor.

Not really familiar: Taking castor oil used to be recommended for constipation, but it is not healthy to take it orally in large doses. Castor oil packs might be okay, but there are side effects to castor oil, and it is definitely absorbed from the packs.

Please don't!: Castor oil cannot shrink a fiborid. Please do not try this, as it will not work and you may harm yourself. It is truly rare for a fibroid to 'block sperm from getting to the egg.' please get help soon from a fertility specialist or a really good obg on this.

i have liver mets from primary ocular melanoma. i slept with a castor oil pack 2 days ago. my abdomen & lower right are painful. will this subside?

This is outside ?: Castor oil packs most likely do not do anything. I am thinking of the external application of the oil in cloth on skin. If there is heat, there could conceivably be a burn from the heat but any damage from it would be visible.

ON THE OTHER HAND. Cancer everywhere can do bad and painful things.

Oil acne: Oils are known to produce acne. Don' t use any product such as hair pomades that use acne .For now use benzyl peroxide for two weeks no if no improvement see a dermatologist.

Really depends: It's relatively safe to take everyday for a short period time, but i would never recommend taking any laxative daily.

Soaks: It's best to soak a piece of cloth with the castor oil, then place it over the area to be treated. The traditional material is flannel. You can also then place a heating pad over the cloth, but place something between them so that the heating pad doesn't come in contact with the castor oil.
