Look for other cause: Carpel tunnel syndrome is more common in people with hypothyroidism, but if you are on treatment, and are on an appropriate dose, this should not occur. Of course you can get carpel tunnel from many repetitive motions (like typing, mousing) regardless of thyroid. Have your wrist checked out.

my hand was crushed in 2008, after that developed carpel tunnel, had surgery, just found out have dip thumb joint could crush be  the cause?

Traumatic arthritis : Sounds like the crush to your hand started a cascade of problems.  Carpal tunnel can develop for a multitude of problems. It sounds like you are describing joint changes if the ip joint in your thumb. If it was previously injured you are a increased risk for developing arthritis.

Tarsal tunnel: There is a similar condition called tarsal tunnel syndrome in the foot.  There the posterior tibial nerve (running behind the leg and ankle) is compressed.  In extreme cases, surgery is indicated.

See details: Carpal joints are located in the wrist and not the finger. Your description is too vague to determine the cause but it is likely to be tendinitis or arthritis. Have it evaluated by an orthopedist.

Possibly: Hand numbness, more so than wristnumbness, can be a symptom of carpal tunnel syndrome. So can pain in the digits of the hand. Predominately the symptoms are felt in the first three digits of your hand. Electro diagnostic testing may help determine if you have carpal tunnel syndrome or something else.
