Can? Yes. Will? No.: As with all medications, you can have side effects. The chances of getting side effects are listed on the little white paper included with the prescription (ask the pharmacist if you don't have it). Side effects of Bisoprolol potentially include slow heart rate, lower blood pressure, depression, problems with blood sugar. However, most medications do NOT cause problems &amp; are safe (thank you, FDA!)

i suffer from atrial fibrillation and am under a cardiologist care taking medication.  recently i have lost 20lbs.  what other actions can i take to reduce the occurrence of an afib episode?  are there any health life style changes i can pursue?

Atrial fibrillation: I still advocate minimizing intake of caffeine,alcohol and prohibition of smoking and maintenance of normal blood pressure to reduce recurrence of a fib. A cardiologist is best qualified to evaluate and follow you, order appropriate tests and,if advisable, certain medications to prevent or treat a fib episodes.

endopat test:  blood pressure cuff inflated i got anxious w/panic waves.  score=145. test not done by cardiologist but had clean bill of health with him 3 weeks ago.  bad score from panic attack?

: Where was the calcification?  in breast or heart.. Would be unusual to have at your age in heart unless you have family history of early heart disease and/or have been a smoker and/or had unrecognized high blood pressure or high lipids.  Discuss with your Cards.  Heart pain caused by exercise is often caused by heart artery narrowing from atherosclerosis which eventually becomes calcified..
