High ptt: There are many causes of miscarriage. A high ptt is something that should be investigated among other things for general health, not only miscarriage. The reasons for high PTT can be autoimmune disease, liver disease, including hepatitis or other liver infection or infestation. This is something that should be looked at by your doctor or a hematologist.

Varies: Sometimes it is obvious, many times it is not.  Most women have some amount of bleeding during early pregnancy due to implantation and they may think they have (or are) miscarried.  The best way to tell for sure is with an ultrasound and  sometimes by following serial HCG levels in the blood.

You may not know: You can know you have miscarried if you pass and can recognize pregnancy tissue, or if you have a positive pregnancy test that becomes negative after heavy bleeding.
