Eat right: You should discuss this with your medical oncologist.  It is important to eat right and exercise during chemotherapy, and you can often get everything you need from a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, and low in saturated fats. But be careful taking too many supplements, as some may interfere with the effectiveness of chemotherapy.

i am a patient of non small cell adenocarcinoma lung stage-lv. i am on maintaince chemo. when i take 18  cycle , billirubion is up to 2. what can i do?

Ask your oncologist: Your best source of information is your treating oncologist. It looks like your cancer is far advanced...So you need to be in constant contact with your oncology team of the doctor and his oncology nurses who can address your questions much better than i can as they know the extent of your cancer much better and which way it is heading.

Depends: It depends on the stage of the disease the survival for stage 4 limited.

It is possible: For a significant period of time the standard approach was to treat for 4 months and stop, because studies showed that ongoing treatment was no better than restarting when things progressed. Recent data show a survival advantage with Alimta or Avastin (bevacizumab) after 4 months of chemo. It makes sense as long as you are tolerating it.
I would discuss your particulars with your oncologist.

Months: From chemotherapy it usually takes 6 months from the time of completing chemotherapy to have a very short haircut.

If the radiation was done to the lung that wouldn't effect the hair. If it was done to head for brain mets than it may take longer than 6 months.

A few days and yes: By "take effect" i assume you mean cause side effects. Most people feel very fatigued from chemo, and that gets worse after each cycle.  The chemo works right away on cancer cells, but it usually takes several days after treatment to feel side effects.

On the contrary: The decision to recommend chemotherapy is based on the stage of the cancer, the pt's age, as well as the molecular features, including the estrogen-, progesterone-, & her2/neu receptor status +/-oncotype-dx recurrence score.  Stage i-, ln(-) pts may have no chemo-, hormonal rx, or chemotherapy recommended based on the above factors.

is it true that stage 1 breast cancer patients with no lymph node involvement recommended to take chemo?

It Depends: Typically it depends on the receptor status (estrogen/progesterone/her2) and the size of the tumor.  Tumors greater than a centimeter are generally prescribed chemotherapy, although er/pr+ patients may just get hormonal therapy.  

The oncotype assay is sometimes used to decide on equivocal cases on when to give chemo.  You might want to ask your doctors if this is right for you.

my sister in law has just gone through chemo and radiation for breast cancer is not sleeping at all can she take adco-zolpidem-hemitartrate?

Treating physician: That question is best asked of her treating physician or the one who is responsible for managing her chemo/radiation treatments. I don't see why not but then, again I'm not an oncologist.
