No: Pneumonia is caused by germs not fans. However, any kid with flu can develop pneumonia as part of the illness.Just keep a good eye on things.

Liver is in Trouble: First the doctor would have you stop all products toxic to the liver. They would also test you for various infections and other things known to cause liver trouble.  They should advise you to never use any product with tylenol (acetaminophen) or Acetaminophen again and to stop any alcohol you may be using.

im running out of statins and wondered if i should take niacin instead, i think the statins are affecting my liver, im retaining water, should i stop ?

Not the same: Niacin is a whole lot less potent compared to statins.  See your doctor and talk about the swelling as that's not a common side effect of statins.

Which enzymes: There are several different liver enzymes. From your post i can't tell which ones are elevated. However, there are many reasons for liver enzymes to go up. Some of the causes can be from infections, drugs (legal and illegal), cancer, alcohol use, etc. If your doctor recommends seeing a liver specialist, you should schedule an appointment with one.

No: Sgot and sgpt, the famous liver enzymes. Are often released from untrained muscle when you exert yourself heavily. Good for you -- keep it up as you are able and your life will get much better. Your physician is a guide to getting fit -- don't overdo things and hopefully this will become an important and wonderful part of your life.

Need biopsy: If your enzymes have been elevated for a long period of time, the only definitive test is a liver biopsy, performed either under ultrasound or ct. It is a relatively painless procedure, done as an outpatient, usually with local anesthetic. You should be able to go home within 2 hours. Bleeding is a potential complication, but usually self-limited if you have normal clotting. Treatment follows dx.

Q 4 Physiatry, Sport: A healthy runner would be unlikely to have a major illness. Hence if i saw someone in my college town practice who was 22, i would refer her to orthopedic surgery or sports medicine clinic for initial evaluation. I would not drop things there, however. I would communicate with all of the consultants, look at ehrs, speak with the patient about changes and continue to refer to specialists as needed.

went to er today for chest pains after running, was a panic attack. some liver counts where high though. ast=75 and alt=82. should i be worried?

You in condition?: If your doctor has cleared you for that type of physical exertion then, &quot;NO&quot; your LFT&#x27;s being a bit elevated is of no consequence. Those numbers are always changing like blood pressure. They go up and down depending on a lot of things....I wouldn&#x27;t worry about it. Have your panic attacks looked at though as those may be more debilitating than anything else for you right now.

is it okay to leave the ceiling fan on while you sleep? or will it make your sick?

Perfectly fine: Mine is on every night.  Air movement will not make you sick.
