Periods: Periods come every 21-35 days for most people. It would not be strange if it occurred on the same date in two different months. Some are extremely regular and predictable. It depends.: Occasional cycle abnormalities are not concerning, but if the pattern persists you may want to visit with your obgyn.  This can sometimes be due to anatomical abnormalities like a polyp, a fibroid or a cyst.  An ultrasound may be helpful in determining what the problem is.  Also, some hormonal abnormalities may lead to abnormal bleeding.  Occasionally it may be related to pre-cancer or cancer.

The second part begins after ovulation and lasts 14 days (+/- 1 day). Your cycles are regular and normal.

Vaginal bleeding: Your extra "period" might have been menstruation, but not necessarily; perhaps an episode of non-menstrual vaginal bleeding. Often : Often times when you miss a pill your hormone levels are off thus resulting in spotting or light bleeding. On the other hand the fact that you missed a pill puts you at risk for pregnancy. So implanttaion bleeding is a possibility. You should have started your period by now or be expecting it soon. If it does not come take a pregnancy test.

If : If you still haven't had your period, then you should take another test, and if you still don't have it after that then go to your doctor and have a blood pregnancy test.  Pregnancy at 44 is definitely still possible for many women.

Tests are accurate: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, or medications. A correctly done urine test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon.
