Possible: One can sometimes be virtually asymptomatic and carry the bacteria in the throat/tonsil etc. The carrier state is however is not very well defined, its more like a very mild case. Only a throat culture can prove this diagnosis.

I have had strep: Twice with a minimally sore throat. The tip off each time was that other family members had strep - so i went in ; got evaluated. Let your doctor know. If  you have strep it needs to be treated with antibiotics.

If you have streph throat, antibiotic therapy is imperative to prevent future compications. Sxs of strep throat can include: large, red painful tonsils with white exudates; small red dots on the roof of the mouth; swollen lymph nodes on the neck; fever, headache, rash & difficulty swallowing.

Streph Throat: If you have Strep Throat, antibiotic therapy is imperative to prevent future complications. Consider Tylenol (acetaminophen) or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications. Saltwater gargles: Mix 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water – gargle several times a day. Can gargle with Aloe Vera juice twice a day.

The only way to know: For sure is with strep test/ culture. I would tell you that you get beefy red, enlarged tonsils with exudates and swollen lymph nodes - but sometimes you can have strep with hardly any symptoms. Take care.
