It's almost never: Implantation bleeding, that is largely an internet myth. If - a big if - you actually get implantation bleed it woudl be about 6-7 days after ovulation, or about a week before your expected period.

Possible: Wait another week and check first AM urine with home pregnancy test. It could also be dysfunctional uterine bleeding which is common with hormonal shifts even with stress. Trying to conceive can be stressful which works against you. Easier said than done, but try to relax. Many couples conceive after adoption because the pressure is off. Follow up with your fertility specialist, too. Take care.

Not likely: Wait. A positive pregnancy test can tell a woman that prior spotting was actually implantation spotting. It can be hard to tell if a woman is pregnant because some of the symptoms seen in early pregnancy can also happen in non-pregnant women. A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result about 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period.

Not implantation: Implantation bleeding only occurs in those who are pregnant. Since your pregnancy test is now negative then tells is that this bleeding was not implantation bleeding.

Hard to tell: I would see a doctor to get a "quantitative" HCG blood level done.  This can help determine how far along the pregnancy is.  Taking another blood test in 24 hours can then determine if the levels are going up or down.

wait and if you miss your period, do an in home pregnancy test.If you get your period that means it was not due to implantation and if it recurs get your self checked by your gynecologist.

Check pregnancy test: Could be a false negative pregnancy test.  If your period doesn't come soon, retest.

Unlikely pregnant, : unless it occurred during this cycle, a urine pregnancy test could be useful.   Irregular ovulation is next most likely reason for a late period. You should see your doctor to get a regular contraceptive method /plan.
