The tonsil is a: Location that houses lymphoid tissues called "tonsils", but the hpv virus inhabits the lining squamous mucosa of the throat, and the tonsils are part of that.  Many are infected, few develop invasive cancer. The virus can spread by kissing.

Asked and Answered: First as you have been told there is no test and no way to predict you will get oral cancer.  Second, as you have been told in nice and calm ways you are still not too late to get the hpv vaccine.  Third, while you worry about your throat you should really also be worried about your cervix and participating with your gynecologist on a regular basis.  There is no way to predict your risk.

More in younger: We see it more  often in younger  people, but we can also see it in mature  people. It depends on your  immune  strength as an adult. There are  more attacks in children, but lot of  adults  get it. The  causes are  clasically streptococcus but also viruses and other  bacteria. Usually antibiotics but sometime surgery - tonsilectomy. A dangerous situation with an abscess can occur - surgery then.
