Evaluation: It is very uncommon for someone to have a sore throat on a biweekly basis, on one side. There may be some other problem other than bacterial or viral. Please consult with a local ent, who can take a full medical history.

Foreign body: Greetings. The best advice is to gargle aggressively to move the piece of food. There is a chance that this piece of nut has already passed. It may have caused a scratch to the sensitive mucus membranes in your throat area. If the gargle doesn't work see your ENT doctor who can look at this area with an endoscope in the office setting. If something is there, it can often be removed right there.

i have terrible pain in the right side of my neck close to my throat. the pain is worse that is ggetting worse the past few days.

See a doctor: You need to see an ENT doctor who can inspect your throat and do a neck ultrasound or ct if needed.

Stuck in throat: If you can feel something there then the best is go see your doctor or go to the nearest Urgent Care - they can help you.

A consult indicated: The history makes me wonder if you are having acid reflux from your stomach.    Gall Bladder problems,  etc.  might also be the source.  I think it is time to see your doctor.    Be sure to ask for help with stopping smoking..even if you don't want to at this time.

Dr. can check throat: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat). Throat lozenges, and Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin, can help decrease throat pain.

Tonsils?: I&#x27;m guessing you have some kind of irritation in your tonsil or your throat. Maybe even a tonsillith. The only way to be sure would be to have an ear nose and throat doctor take a look. There are other reasons for a throat tickle, like a swollen thyroid gland or an injured nerve. But those are less common.

How long: have you felt this way? Infectious Mononucleosis can present the way you are describing! A simple blood test will make that diagnosis likely.

Unclear: There are many parameters I do not know that would be helpful : how long you have had this cough, are you bending your head below your waist, have you eaten enough food / drank enough fluids, are there other symptoms.  The increased pressure within your body during coughing actions can sometimes cause pressure in your head. however you will need an evaluation by a professional to seek more help...
