Yes..: Shingles can manifest on any part of the body around a specific skin region we name dermatome, which usually forms like a map like area where the virus sits and shows symptoms of pain( usually burning type), itching, and rash in a cluster distribution. have chronic shingles  with  severe pain and stiffening  of muscles in both legs. could valtrex (valacyclovir) be causing a lactic acid problem?

Valtrex (valacyclovir): It is unlikely that Valtrex (valacyclovir) is causing muscular aches.  The most common side effects are nausea, headache, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, rash, depression, and abdominal pain.  However, it is known that Valtrex (valacyclovir) can give you joint pain.  Shingles, can give you flu like symptoms including muscle pains.  I hope you feel better soon.

See a dermatologist: Very unlikely [not impossible] to have shingles in 2 different nerves. Severe itch is not a feature of shingles. Call a dermatologist and indicate that it is urgent. If you fail to get an immediate appointment, insist that your PCP call and demand it.

got rashes on one leg a week ago,doc said shingles n said my 2yr old son can get chickenpox but he didn't. is it normal? or can be wrong diagnosis??

Shingles: Your son probably has had his first chicken pox shot which will give him some good protection.  Not touching or getting near your shingles helps him not get it also.

Low Back Pain: It would appear that you have  lumbosacral disc pathology with some compression of the nerves that go down your legs. You will require a lumbosacral X Ray and MRI to determine the exact pathology. Since you have indicated that this is a chronic condition, it would be good to consider an epidural injection if indicated, to help relieve the symptoms of pain in your legs. No strenuous activity please

No: But there is a condition called restless leg syndrome which your symptoms are suggestive of... There is also a medication which can be very helpful if this is your diagnosis .I would see your primary care physician for a thorough history and physical examination . Best of Luck!

Try a stretch: For example, sit on the backs of your heels and lean all the way back to stretch your quadriceps muscles, each morning and nighttime, whether or not you bike.  See if this helps.

Lichen Planus: Lichen planus will wax and wane. It is a chronic rash of unknown cause with no cure, may be itchy and poorly understood by medicine. It can be managed with medication both topical and oral. It may resolve on its own. Wish i could help more; see your dermatologist to manage this disease.

A DVT: can cause a variety of symptoms including pain up the affected leg, but it can also be painless. If a person has a DVT in one leg, but not in another, it would be unusual to have pain in both legs, unless the DVT is very extensive, and extends into the central circulation.
