Highly unlikely-: Other infections such as franciscella tularensis (tularemia) potentially, yes- but not leptospirosis from petting a bunny. However, if you are the one responsible for cleaning up rodent feces and urine, you could get it if the bunny is infected and one were to inhale dtried particles of its feces or urine.

Scabies: Scabies mites that live on pets are different from the ones found on humans. But, mites on pets may be transmitted to you from an infested pet. They can burrow under your skin resulting in itching. This type of mite will not reproduce on you ; should die within several days. You won't require medication but your animal needs to be treated.

can you get necrotizing fasciitis from a pet rabbit bite?, also is the bite dangerous? the bite is on the back lower leg & its deepish with bruising.

Unlikely, but...: Any break in the skin can lead to infection. If getting more swollen, more painful, fevers  or redness is spreading you need to be seen ASAP. Otherwise wash with soap and water and cover with anti optic ointment and it should heal. Any questions see a doctor.

Yes, tx is available: First you can catch E. Cunic. from your rabbits, especially by coming into contact with their urine.  About 20% of rabbits in the US have this parasite and it is transmittable to humans.  The treatment involved antifungal topicals and, if the disease if systemic, Albendazole is necessary.  Fortunately, the parasite is detectable by blood assay.

Doubly: if these rabbit has never been wild it is very improbable. Usually bats, raccoon,coyotes, horse are the normal reservoir  for rabies, which then may bite dogs and cats

Soap and water: Apply pressure to stop bleeding (at least 10 minutes). Clean with mild soap and warm water and use bacitracin and cover with a bandaid. Clean and reapply bacitracin and bandaid daily till healed.  If your tetantus is not up to date, get a booster.  If redness, red streaks, warmth, or increased, see your doctor as soon as possible. Don't use peroxide, betadine, alcohol - these are tissue-toxic.

Rabbit rabies: If he is truly a domestic rabbit and has been raised in a house since birth, it is very unlikely he has rabies. If he ever has been a "free range" rabbit, then thee is a slim but real possibility. You are doing the right thing getting started with the shots, but if he's really a pet, I doubt it.
