There is no evidence that the herpes virus survives on clothing or other inert objects long enough to transmit infection. Unlikely: Many think sharing cosmetics is not a good idea.  Certainly if the person from whom you are sharing has active herpes on their face or lips, then you should not do this.  However you undoubtedly have already been exposed in the past to herpes and as long as your lip and facial skin is intact, there is almost no risk.

Herpes simplex: This would be very uncommon. If one person had active herpetic lesions, took off their underwear and you put them on immediately it is conceivable that it would be communicated in this manner.

Some kinds, yes: genital herpes is spread by sexual contact.  There are many herpes viruses and related viruses that are spread by respiratory (coughing, etc) and produce cold sores and diseases like mononucleosis.  So, if some one has coughed on the food, you would have to eat it.  If they coughed or breathed on you directly, then you might get it.

The : The herpes virus is spread from by direct contact with the virus. This would be via any direct contact with a herpetic lesion, intimate contact with actively infected person, sharing drinking glass, lipstick, cigarette with a person with an active herpes ulcer on the mouth. The virus is not transmitted from a needle prick of an infected person.
What is detected in the blood in persons with previous exposure to herpes is antibodies that are present when someone has been exposed to the virus in the past.
