i was treated for gout a week ago and my ankle feels like i have tendonitis in my right heel. i am going on vacation tomorrow and can't get rid of the pain. i iced it down, but only a temporary fix. help!

It's : It's hard to answer your question without knowing more detail, like was the gout in that same ankle?  How was the gout treated?  If the gouty joint is different from the ankle, is your gout all better?

Perhaps you were walking in such a way to avoid pain in the gouty joint, which caused the heel/ankle pain?

It sounds like a broken record here, but obviously, the best advice anyone could give you is to go back to your doctor and report this new finding.

Trauma is known : To induce a gout attack. However, you likely are predisposed to the gout. I.E elevated uric acid or what have you.
Another words  not every sprained ankle turns into gout..

hello i ate abit of seafood lastnight and it has sparked gout up in my right foot. can i please get a prescription for either naproslyn or predisone.

Drinking & foot prob: While gout is one of the complications of alcohol, your're right that your symptoms don't match. I guess the only other logical possibility is that you may have stepped on your foot wrong while drinking and sprained it in some way. Excess alcohol often leads to wobbliness and unsteadiness. How much do you drink? Have you ever injured your foot before? (which would make you more susceptible).

Need more info: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor. However what you described suggests tendinitis and not gout.

Plantar fasciitis: This sounds like it could be plantar fasciitis. Try resting from any heavy running, pounding exercise, and roll your foot on a tennis ball every night while seated. Ibuprofen can help for inflammation. Avoid flip flops as well.

Need more info: is it red and hot to touch. did you injure it?
need to know medical status?
could be gout, but without knowing medical conditions or history, tough to dx.
see out a podiatrist to review your foot complaints.

Big toe pain: History of gout? Draw blood and check  for uric acid levels.  If elevated then gout is a more definitive diagnosis.  Any history of unusual activity , exercise or  different shoe wear?  Gout effects joints, if joints not involved then possible overuse syndrome.  Rec rest, ice, compression and elevation.  If continues without resolve get it checked out.
