when i breathe i get a sharp pain at the base of my left arm pit. it just started yesterday. is that gas pain?

i have constant gas that build and can be painful. i get shooting pain in my arms/legs/chest. i only get relief when expelling it (from both ends)?

I see: Simethicone (Gas-X) can help for some people. A better bet is keeping a dietary diary or log and keeping track of what you eat and your degree of gassiness.  Use that info to find a pattern and discover what foods cause this problem for you, then avoid those foods.  If you have issues with constipation and/or diarrhea also, this could indicate IBS which would be treated a little differently.

Unclear: Could be the diet she is eats or possibly ibs. When you message her you are stimulating the nerves that supply the colon, particularly in her mid back. This could cause the burping. Have her see her doctor if it seems like a problem.

Yes: Excessive gas build up is very uncomfortable and can cause your symptoms. Stay away from gas producing food, eat slower, chew your food well. There are several over the counter anti-gas products that are safe. If you follow the above and don't get relief see a GI physician.

GERD: If  GERD  test for  h pylori  a bacreria that can exacerbate GERD- needs antibiotics. Also may be food intolerances-milk,gluten, soy -check by blood /skin tests If  not improved after 6 weeks of therapy- may need  EGD -  a  look at  esophagus w/ scope for  ulcers or strictures-tigtening. Check gall bladder w/ ultrasound. Surgery  is rare, bleeding/ cancer. f/u/doc
