: If you have open sores or cracks on lips you are at risk of contacting HSV-1. The virus spreads on contact, place some Abreva cream on lips and watch. If a breakout occurs see your PCP.

i've had unprotected oral sex & couple days later i'm itching around my anus & ball sack. feels like something crawling or moving but i don't see anything. i'm thinking herpes. any help or what should i do ?

Not herpes: These symptoms of herpes or any STD, especially if you don't also have visible blisters or sores. And if the oral contact was with your penis, that's the only place you would get herpes, not the scrotum, anus, etc. This sounds like trivial symptoms or normal body sensations you probably wouldn't notice except for worry about the sexual exposure. But if in doubt, see a doctor or clinic. Good luck.

There are many STDs, e.g. HIV HPV, Herpes, LGV, syphilis, pubic lice etc. It would be prudent to see your doctor for an evaluation.

: It's difficult to differentiate with just those symptoms because you can have both. You can look at your anus and perianal area with a mirror and tell us what you see so we may be able to say what it is or you can google for the images of external hemorrhoid and herpes lesion and you can see the difference.
Perianal herpes may occur without history of anal sex.

Herpes symptoms: During a herpes outbreak -- that is, if you also have genital blisters or sores -- you could have this symptom at the same time; or this might precede an oubreak by a day or two.. In these cases, it will clear up soon. Genital herpes is not known to cause such symptoms without an outbreak, and no nerve symptoms that last more than a few days (despite many online claims to the contrary).

Probably not: H simplex type-1 typically causes infections of oral mucosa &amp;establishes a lifelong persistence in sensory ganglia . Persistence and latency have been demonstrated in human trigeminal, facial, and vestibular ganglia. The reactivation of virus in ganglia generally causes cranial nerve disorders such as herpes labialis, Bell’s palsy, and vestibular Neuritis. No evidence of  trigeminal neuralgia.

YES: The infected nerve roots can cause referred pain depending on the site of the outbreak

Get an eval: A simple history and Physical exam would be able to tell you.  Unless you have an active infection of Zoster, affecting the sciatic nerve root/Dermatome it would be unlikely for Herpes virus to cause this.
